Win more at TNLG FNM every week!

Have you ever wanted to play in Friday Night Magic with a new concept or deck idea but didn’t want to miss out on those precious packs from going 3-1 or 4-0? Well we now have incentive for you to try a new deck idea or change a current deck and be rewarded for taking the chance to try a new idea or deck. No matter if you fail miserably with your new deck or do well, either way you will double your prize payout. Starting in June we will be adding a twist to our popular Friday Night Magic event with Double Packs for Deck Design! Here is how it works.

Leading up the the FNM you have plenty of time to come up with a new deck idea or change a current deck that is already out. So before Thursday at Midnight we want you to post your deck to the TNLG Facebook Page (http://www.facebook.com/TheNextLevelGames) for us to review . Then come play in our FNM that Friday at 7pm and bring the same deck with you. Compete and play in the tournament and we will DOUBLE your PACKS that you win!

Ok now here are the guidelines for decks.

1) You need to post your deck before Thursday 11:59 PM

2) You need to bring the deck with you and show it to our staff so they can verify it.

3) The deck needs to be the same one you listed.

4) The deck needs to be a new concept or dramatic enough changes to an existing deck

5) If you are making changes to an existing deck it needs to be dramatic enough and you will need to post on your decklist what changes you made and a detailed explanation of why you think this will be better. Sorry, but if you decide that some popular deck needed a different mana base and expect that to work it will not. We are looking for original designs or changes significant enough to warrant some bonus prizes!

6) You will be notified at the event that you are eligible for the extra prizes and you will receive a special TNLG Double Packs for Deck Design Badge for the night so players know who they are battling against!

So those are the rules, we are doing this because FNM is supposed to be fun for everyone and we want to encourage not only creativeness but we want to bring out casual players who may just want to play a deck with RATS!

More Changes to the website!

We have been listening to everyone’s feedback and we are making some changes to help improve the look and flow of the website. Over the next couple of weeks we will be making even more changes including some layout changes you will see and some back end changes you won’t see. The first change is the new comments section which posts directly to facebook now. So when you comment on an article you can see it from facebook. Also we have been changing some of the graphics and banners to update the site.

In the coming weeks we will be…
Taking out the old forums since we don’t use it and the new facebook comments accomplish many of the same tasks.
Updating more often to all pages, including new strategy articles.
Announcing some cool new prize structures for ongoing tournaments.
Announcing how you can get paid for wearing TNLG gear.
Adding more inventory to the website for sales
and so so so much more.

The top 8 split the store credit and the Humans could not be overcome by the Werewolves, Zombies, Vampires and Spirits. We also had 49 players for the Next Destinies Prerelease. Evan Mitchell won the Masters division, Kyle Mitchell won the Seniors Division and Gavin Tyler won the Juniors division. Two of the more popular cards played this weekend were Mewtwo EX and Reshiram EX.

Commander League Starts June 21st

The League starts June 21st and lasts through July. The tournament fee is $5 per week and each person entering will receive a current release booster pack for entering. The top 4 players each league night will receive WPN Promo Foil Cards. In addition at the end of the League we will be awarding the following prizes.

1st Place: Revised Taiga
2nd Place: Foil Sacred Foundry
3rd and 4th Place: Each receive their choice of any Zendikar Sac Land

Here are the rules!
EDH League Awards

Already?
-4 Points: Elimination of a player before all players have had 5 turns.

The Noland Rule
-2 Points: Destroying any player’s mana base. This includes spells that would destroy or hamper any person’s mana base on a mass scale and includes Armageddon, Choke, Flashfires, etc.

Commanders are Dumb
-1 Point: Finish the game without casting your Commander

Greed isn’t Good
-1 Point: Take more than 3 turns in a row to receive this award, and it can be awarded more than once

Sticking to your colors
+1 Point: This is awarded when you control a non token creature for each color in your Commander’s cost; for instance if you have Sliver Queen you will need a separate creature for all five colors. This can only be awarded once per player per pod.

A String of Spells
+1 Point: Players will receive this point by casting a consecutive spell with a higher cost after the third spell. So if Player A plays a (2) Cost spell then on the next turn Player B plays (3) Cost Spell, if the next spell costs (4) that player will receive a point. Points will continue to be awarded each time a consecutive cost spell is played.

Level the Field
+1 Point: Level up a leveler to its highest level.

HERE!
+1 Point: Give another player a creature you own.

Yo Chump
+1 Point: This is awarded to any player with 10 token creatures with power 1 or less in play.

This is the stuff of Legends
+1 Point: This is awarded to any player who controls 4 Legendary creatures at the beginning of their end step.

Die Die Die!
+1 Point: Survive after being attacked for lethal damage for three turns.

You started this war!
+1 Point: Be the first to destroy a creature by any non combat means.

I will finish it!
+1 Point: The first person to destroy a creature of the controller of “You started this war!” award

I am here to Help
+1 Point: Make another person draw three cards in one turn.

Give it back
+1 Point: Regain control of a permanent you own that was taken by another player

Drop it like it’s hot
+1 Point: cast the 3rd Spell on the stack (this can be awarded only once by each person per pod)

That’s it for me
+1 Point: Be the first player eliminated

How did that happen
+1 Point: Each player will be awarded this if the game finishes with the same number of players it started with

Winner Winner
+1 Point: Be the last player remaining in a pod

I’m Wasted too
+1 Point: Destroy a land after having one of yours destroyed by an opponent

Let’s get higher
+1 Point: Double your life total in a single turn.

HUGE MIDGETS!
+1 Point: Control a 1/1 creature with 10 +1/+1 counters on it

Double Trouble
+1 Point: Control two non-token creatures that are the same but with different names. Creatures must have the same abilities, power, toughness, color and casting cost.

Room for growth
+2 Points: Control no permanents after turn 10

I need more space
+2 Points: Control 35 non-token permanents

Your next
+2 Points: Eliminate a player who just eliminated another player. This can only be awarded on the same turn or on the next turn after the player was eliminated.

Sing the ABC Song
+3 Points: Resolve a spell that has consecutive letters after the 2nd spell. So if Player A casts Go for the Throat and Player C casts Healing Salve the award will be given if a player casts a spell with the first letter in the spell being an I (Into the Roil)

Last man standing
+4 Points. Win the game with 2 or more opponents still in the game.
