Round 5 Chi Hoi Yim vs Charlie Shand
Chi was on the play game one and led off with Gladiator Beast Laquari and 2 face down cards. Charlie also started the game fast with Terraforming for Mausoleum for the Emperor and a set monster. Chi went straight for the early smash with Gladiator Beast Proving Ground to get a Gladiator Beast which tagged in Gladiator Beast Gyzarus. The Gyzarus took out the face down Nightmare Penguin and attacked for 2400. He ended after he tagged in another copy of Laquari and a Gladiator Beast Hoplomus.
Charlie brought out the Mausoleum and Superancient Deepsea King Coleacanth but the summon was negated by Bottomless Trap Holei. Having no other plays he was quickly finished when Chi overran him with Gladiators on the following turn.
Charlie would be on the play game two and used Moray of Greed to shuffle two water monsters into his deck and drew two cards. He then played Terraforming to again get the Mausoleum. Next up he played Swap Frog to get Treeborn Frog and place it into the Graveyard. He then used a second Moray with a Nightmare Penguin and another Swap Frog. He ended without any other plays after drawing his two cards.
Chi brought out Gladiator Beast Equeste and fetched Gladiator Beast Retiari after he attacked. He played 3 spells or traps face down and a Dimensional Fissure face up before he ended his turn. Charlie played Mystical Space Typhoon on Solemn Warning and a second one on Book of Moon before playing the Mausoleum and the Superancient Deepsea King Coleacanth. He discarded a Fishborg Blaster to get 2 Oyster Meisters, a Fishborg Blaster and a Royal Swamp Eel. Chi was ready with Torrential Tribute removing all of the Monsters from play with the fissure, and jumping way ahead in board presense.
Chi attacked with a Gladiator Beast Laquari and used it to get a Gladiator Beast Bestairi, using that effect to kill off the Mausoleum. Pot of Duality showed a few cards and Charlie ended up with a Light and Darkness Dragon. He summoned Swap Frog and got another one from his deck. Chi had no plays other than to pass as again Charlie attacked with the frog before he finished the turn.
Chi finally found a monster in the form of Gladiator Beast Hopolomus, Charlie was waiting with Gorz after the attack but Chi played Gladiator Beast War Chariot which negated the threat from Charlie. He finished his turn with Gladiator Beast Equeste getting back the Chariot and replaying it. Charlie was facing an increasing threat and when Chi summoned Thunder King Rai-Oh Charlie conceded the match.
