The Next Level Games was opened in Bellevue Center Mall in 2004. The store began it’s roots as a comics and card store carrying sports cards and memorabilia as well. During those formative years TNLG began to form it’s image as a gaming store that not only stocked many items but also ran some of the best events anywhere.
With events passing 200 unique players the need for a larger space was key to finding a suitable location. In 2006 TNLG moved inside the mall to a much larger location to accommodate larger events. For the next two years events grew and the business expanded and in 2008 TNLG was responsible for bringing large events to Nashville with the Yu-Gi-Oh! Shonen Jump Nashville held at the Nashville Convention Center.
In 2009 Bellevue Center Mall announced it would be closing. At that time TNLG found a new home in Rivergate Mall. During those next couple of years TNLG would bring another Shonen Jump to Nashville as well as the first Magic Grand Prix to Nashville both held at Gaylord Opryland Hotel. The need for a larger space continued to become a focus and TNLG moved outside of Rivergate Mall into Rivergate Village behind the mall.
With nearly 10,000 square feet of retail and gaming space TNLG has become a regional leader in places to play. We are still bringing the largest events to the southeast with YCS Charlotte in 2011 and Grand Prix Nashville in 2012. TNLG also runs Pro Tour Qualifiers, Yu-Gi-Oh! Regional Qualifiers and more across Tennessee, Arkansas, and North Carolina.
We have a weekly schedule with every game you can imagine including board games and more. Check out the calendar page to see what we have for your favorite game. We also stock supplies, product and singles from all games. We average about 200 unique players a week including a FNM that tops 100 players some weeks. We have seating for 350 players so you never have to worry about space being a problem.
In 2012 we launched our online store. We keep a separate inventory in the store so if you are in town and don’t see what you are looking for on the web we may have it in stock in the store.
In 2013 The Next Level Games relaunched the website and brought in a team of players to write articles, promote gaming, and teach the next generation of card gamers. TeamTNLG was founded with the principles of growing gaming by appearance, attitude and play. We will be taking applications for new team members throughout the year so keep checking the site to see when applications become available.
